PrEP Services Program Coordinator 1- Si a la Vida

Si a la Vida –Integrated HIV Services offers a continuum of HIV services to diverse Latino communities in San  Francisco, including HIV prevention and mental health services. Our goals are to support Latinos in reducing  their risk of HIV infection and transmission; to improve the quality of life of those living with and at risk of HIV;  and to reduce stigma related to HIV, sexual orientation and gender identity. We accomplish this through  client-centered, nonjudgmental, culturally and linguistically appropriate services.

The Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Services Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of  individual, group and community level PrEP interventions for Latino MSM and transwomen. The Coordinator will work within a multidisciplinary team and collaboratively with community-based partner organizations in  order to increase awareness and access to PrEP.

Essential Job Duties are, but not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for coordinating day-to-day PrEP services for Latino MSM and transwomen
  • Lead development and implementation of a community based multimedia outreach strategy to increase PrEP awareness
  • Provide client-centered PrEP education counseling with a focus on linkage-to-care, client navigation, adherence, and retention
  • Assist clients in identifying an appropriate medical provider and completing insurance enrollment, eligibility, and benefits paperwork
  • Supervise PrEP Navigator and provide training and direction to a cohort of peer-based ambassadors
  • Work closely with Mission Neighborhood Health Center staff to support PrEP clinic; track appointments, document visits and interactions appropriately, while ensuring the completion of referrals and linkages
  • Co-facilitate PrEP groups with PrEP Navigator
  • Assist Program Manager with evaluation, data collection, and monthly & quarterly reports
  • Provide HIV Counseling and Rapid Testing as needed
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision, training, and team and agency-wide meetings, and represent the program and agency professionally
  • Maintain the highest level of client confidentiality; follow HIPPA regulations
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Coordinate & facilitate collaborative meetings with partner agencies
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Director
Required Qualifications
  • Associate of Arts Degree in Health Education, Public Health, or other related degree, plus four years of  experience in HIV prevention and/or LGBTQ health or social services including one year of experience  in PrEP navigation & education. 2 years of additional full time related work experience can substitute  for the Associate’s degree. 
  • Experience working with people living with HIV and at-risk individuals, substance using individuals, immigrant communities, and socially and economically disadvantaged Latino communities
  • Demonstrated competence in creating spaces that are affirming of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expression
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Demonstrated skills in facilitation of groups and workshops
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as foster teamwork
  • Computer, internet and social media proficiency
  • Bicultural competence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a clinical environment
  • Experience in supervising or leading other employees or volunteers
  • Knowledgeable about different types of health coverage programs
  • Familiar with digital storytelling, social media and/or social marketing
  • Experience with curriculum development and program evaluation
  • Experience managing budgets and creating spreadsheets
  • Certification in HIV Test Counseling or motivational interviewing preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience or training
  • Bachelors of Arts Degree in Public Health, Health Education
Conditions of Continued Employment
  • Must pass and maintain annuyal tuberculosis test
  • Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint screening
  • Complete annual recurrent online training
Compensation

This is a full-time exempt position with benefits. The fixed hiring range: $54, 080.00. 

All full-time positions at IFR are 35 hours per week and are eligible to participate in medical health benefit plans including dental, vision, 403(b) plan, sick leave, 13 paid holidays, and ongoing opportunities for learning.
