Supporting Mental Health For Youth
Good morning!
Continuing IFR’s campaign for May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to highlight the unique needs facing our youth.
In 2021, nearly 33% of Latinx youth reported that their mental health was mostly or not always good. And LGBTQ Latinx youth were 30% more likely to attempt suicide than non-Latinx LGBTQ youth.
Facing challenges we may not have faced as youth, young Latinxs today are confronted with considerably more complex barriers that can impact their well-being.
We are humbled to share a few of their stories with you today.

It falls to us to make sure we empower youth to obtain the help they need WHEN they need it. If you know a young person who might need mental health support, don’t stay quiet. Reach out, provide support, make sure they receive the help they need.
Please share these videos with others you think might benefit from receiving this information.
It’s time to be proactive about our mental health!
