Putting an End to Mental Health Stigma

Dear Community,

This week, we continue our May is Mental Health Awareness Campaign with a focus on stigma.

As many of you know, stigma can often be caused by people’s lack of understanding, fears or shame related to mental health. But did you know that it is projected that as many as half the people with mental illness don’t receive support because of stigma? Yet, it is very likely that we all know at least one person that has needed mental health support in one form or another.

Hear what some of IFR’s staff and clients have to say about mental health stigma.

The good news is that we can all end mental health stigma. We can openly talk about the importance of mental health, speak encouragingly and compassionately about mental health, and educate ourselves on available mental health services and support.

If these videos and messages were helpful to you, please share or forward them to your networks. Let’s put an end to mental health stigma!

Sincerely,

Instituto Familiar de la Raza
